अपने फ्लश टैंक को कम बहाव वाले फ्लश टैंक में बदल दें: टंकी में कम पानी का प्रयोग करने के लिए, पानी से भरी प्लास्टिक की बोतल को फ्लश टैंक में रखें। यदि आवश्यक हो तो, आप पानी की बोतल में कंकर या रेत डालकर उसे दबाकर रखें। या फिर, अपने जल बोर्ड से ‘हिप्पो’ या ‘सेव-अ-फ्लश’ को मँगवाएँ।

स्नान करने, कपड़े और बर्तन धोने के बाद साबुन वाले पानी को बाग में उपयोग करें: हो सके तो, कपड़े धोने की मशीन के आउट लेट में नली लगा कर पानी को बाग की ओर भेज दें। नहाने के पानी का पुनः प्रयोग करने के लिए साइफन पंप का उपयोग करें। बर्तन छलने के बाद, साबुन वाला पानी एक कंटेनर में डालें और उसे बाग में बहा दें।
