વરસાદનું પાણી વૈજ્ઞાનિક ઢબે કુવાઓમાં ઉતારવામાં આવે તો કુવાઓ ફરી જીવંત બને અને ભૂગર્ભ જળ ઊંડા ઉતરતા રોકી શકાય તેમ છે. સ્વામિનારાયણ સંપ્રદાય, સ્વાધ્યાય પરિવાર વગેરે સત્સંગીઓના ભગીરથ પ્રયાસોથી વેલ રિચાર્જિંગને ખૂબ જ વેગ મળ્યો છે. કુવાઓ રિચાર્જ થવાથી પાણીનો બગાડ અટકશે અને ભૂગર્ભ જળ ઊંચા આવશે જેને પરિણામે પીવાલાયક પાણીનો જથ્થો વધારી શકાશે અને પાણીના ક્ષારો નિયંત્રિત કરી શકાશે.

આજની પરિસ્થિતિને જોતા એવુ લાગે છે કે દિવસે ને દિવસે મોટી મોટી ઇમારતો, કારખાનાઓ, રસ્તાઓ અને મકાનોનું બાંધકામ ખુબ જ વધતું જાય છે. આવા મોટા મોટા બાંધકામો ને લીધે જમીન પર સખત પડ બને છે જેના કારણે જમીનમાં પાણી શોષાતુ નથી. આમ,ભૂગર્ભમાં પાણીનો સંગ્રહ ખૂબ જ ઓછા પ્રમાણમાં થાય છે અને છતમા પડેલ વરસાદનું પાણી જમીનમાં શોષયા વગર નદી નાળા દ્વારા સમુદ્રમાં વહી જાય છે. આ છતના પાણીએ એકત્ર કરવામાં આવે તો પાણીની અછતને નિવારવા માટે સારું એવું યોગદાન મળી શકે છે.

ઝરણામાં વહી જતાં પાણીની ગતિ ઓછી કરવા માટે સિમેન્ટની કે તેના જેવી અન્ય ખાલી થેલીઓમાં રેતી અથવા કાળી માટી ભરીને આકૃતિમાં દર્શાવ્યા પ્રમાણે ઝરણાંમાં ગોઠવવામાં આવે છે. આ બંધ ઝરણામાં એવી જગ્યાએ બનાવવો જોઈએ કે જ્યાં જરૂરિયાત મુજબની રેતી અને કાળી માટી સરળતાથી મળી શકે અને મહતમ પાણી એકત્ર કરી શકાય.

Every society should have rain water harvesting measures. Society structure should be made in such a way that all the water, when it rains slides down to a specific place that is the place where rain water is stored. The place, before rain should be dug and cemented, just like dams. A purifying net should be placed over it, So that no leaves, animals or dust particles can enter it. The pit should be kept open with the purifying net in the rainy season and should be closed after the last showers.
