e-Governance is to ease government functioning in order to create Simple, Accountable, Responsive and Transparent governance. The Government of Gujarat (GoG) has come a long way in implementation of the various e-Governance initiatives in the state, in order to adopt the best practices and key reforms.

The evolution of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has brought a whole new paradigm for governance by which we are heading towards ease of living through e-Governance.

The goals of e-Governance are:
a. Better service delivery to citizens
b. Ushering in transparency and accountability
c. Empowering people through information
d. Improved efficiency within Governments
e. Improve interface between business and industry
