India, being the largest democracy in the world, has much to gain from e-Governance,
especially when citizen participation in governance is one of the features of the fully evolved
stage of e-government. Many e-readiness assessments have been carried out at the global level
that show the current state of India’s e-readiness. Some of the more recent study findings
are as follows: The July 2002 EIU ranking found that 55 of the countries navigating the

The initiative is aimed at providing connectivity through fixed-line broadband, mobile connectivity or Wi-Fi hotspots. Every citizen would be provided with a unique identity with lifelong validity that can be tied up with mobile number and bank account to enable digital
banking. Access to Common Service Centre (CSC) would be improved and shareable cloud space on public cloud servers would be provided.

The impressive outcomes of e-Governance are not limiting to public service delivery systems. Identifying education as an element to a country’s sustainable growth, the government has sought to bring vital changes in the sector through e-Governance. Hitachi through Hitachi MGRM Net is helping children with its Information Communication and Technology solutions (ICT), ensuring every child enter the most crucial part of their exploration with tenacity.

It could also deliver cost savings to people and companies, too. Therefore, it is not surprising that policymakers and executives in the world are looking to embrace e-government, from the most developed to the least developed ones. E-government raises the standards of living and becomes a vital tool for governments and their citizens. E-government is not merely a symptom of the digital revolution, but generates true advantages for governments, citizens, private sector and all other stakeholders

There are some problems which e-government could solve them more effectively that they are:
Governing is too costly and expensive: E-government has effective solutions for this problem. It could reduce the related costs and enhancing the effectiveness of spending money by government.
Governing is inconvenient: E-government could improve and encourage the rate of participating and using the public services. It could also receive feedbacks from people, and enhance accountability for public.
